Uh oh! It appears that Gmail and other related Google services are down (or barely functioning) for a lot of users right now.
There isn't a lot of information about the issue at this point, but we do know that many users are seeing error messages. Others are simply attempting to make do with incredibly slow loading pages or missing elements (such as their contact lists).
We've reached out to Google for comment regarding all these issues and will update you if we receive a response.
In the meantime, we're going to pay attention to the "alert" tweeted by Joel Johnson?? the editor in chief of gaming site Kotaku?? and suggest that you do as well:
Update: The folks at Google were quick to get on top of these troubles. They've updated the Google Apps Dashboard to reflect the temporary hiccup in Gmail service and a Google spokesperson gave the following statement:
Today some Gmail users were unable to access their mail for a few minutes. Everything should be back to normal now, we're sorry for the inconvenience.
